Two-Year Colleges
Two-year colleges, also known as community or junior colleges, issue an Associate of Arts or Science degree once all required coursework is completed; program requirements usually require two years to finish. Two-year colleges also issue one-year or shorter-term Certificates of Completion, which provide students with the necessary skills to enter jobs in specific vocations.
Two-year colleges offer developmental courses for students who are not prepared to begin an extensive four-year program. Typically, two-year colleges have strong transfer programs with four-year colleges. Two-year colleges are also generally less expensive.
