Jennifer Anderson

Jennifer Anderson is a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in financial services across the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles including chief financial officer, chief operating officer, treasurer, and investment professional. Ms. Anderson has built a reputation for guiding organizations through complex transformations, driving strategic growth, and leading organizational restructuring efforts.

Ms. Anderson currently serves as chief financial and operating officer of CommonBond Communities, a leading affordable housing organization that provides stable homes and supportive services to more than 13,000 residents throughout the Midwest. She also serves as a director and investment committee member of the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation.

Prior to joining CommonBond Communities, Ms. Anderson served as president and chief financial officer of Community Reinvestment Fund, a national Community Development Financial Institution. In this role, she was responsible for the organization’s operations and financial performance. She led the development and execution of a five-year strategic growth plan that significantly expanded Community Reinvestment Fund’s impact and reach in the communities it serves.

Before Community Reinvestment Fund, Ms. Anderson was vice president and treasurer at AgriBank, NCB, where she led the redesign of the organization’s liquidity strategy and strengthened its treasury operations.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Anderson held several leadership positions with predecessor organizations to Ally Financial. She led growth initiatives for new trading products and, in 2005, accepted an international assignment to oversee capital markets activities for the company’s European division. As the global financial crisis emerged, she was tasked with leading the restructuring of the European entities and developing an exit strategy on behalf of the U.S. parent company.

Ms. Anderson began her career at Bank of America in San Francisco, where she spent seven years as a fixed-income trader and financial analyst.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics, with an emphasis in mathematics, from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. She also completed minors in mathematics and international relations.
