Kevin Gordon
Kevin Gordon is president and co-founder of Capitol Advisors Group, LLC, one of California’s leading governmental affairs firms focused on education policy and finance. He brings more than 30 years of experience working at the intersection of state government, public education funding and higher education systems, advising policymakers, educational institutions, and public agencies on budget, fiscal policy, and education strategy.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gordon has championed efforts to expand higher education opportunities for first-generation and underrepresented students, strengthen college completion and degree attainment, improve equitable school finance, and support investments in student wellness, mental health, career and technical education, and services for students with disabilities. Before founding Capitol Advisors Group, he served as co-founder and president of School Innovations & Advocacy, chief executive officer of the California Association of School Business Officials, and deputy executive director of the California School Boards Association.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gordon served as chief of staff to the late Congressman Robert T. Matsui and as a legislative advocate for the California Building Industry Association. He currently serves on the boards of the Los Rios Colleges Foundation and the Campaign for College Opportunity and has held leadership roles with several civic and education-focused organizations.
Mr. Gordon earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco, a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of California, Davis, and an associate degree in business administration from American River College.
